Innovative Idea - Balanced Scorecard
Have you ever heard of a project or construction manager that is willing to put their money where their mouth is? At Linbeck, we are willing to put a portion of our compensation at-risk to ensure that we meet our clients objectives. Linbeck developed the concept of a balanced scorecard to help align the team with our clients interests. At the outset of each project, Linbeck facilitates a Goal Setting Session to help clients brainstorm the real objectives of the project. Our process helps clients think well beyond the standards of on-time, on-budget and typically include important objectives regarding their on-going business operations, managing the expectations of users, public and community relations as well as a host of other critical issues. Many clients find that our interactive sessions are a tremendous way to build consensus among the various constituents of their own organizations. The goals are then categorized, prioritized and published as a way to focus the attention of all parties. If measurable criteria can be articulated, Linbeck works with the client to establish a balanced scorecard that can be used as a way to measure our performance. Every scorecard is different because our clients are unique but they usually evaluate performance in terms of process, financial goals, operational goals, communications and completion expectations. At the end of the process, our clients independently rate Linbecks performance and award us the portion of our at-risk compensation based on the results.
