National Cowgirl Museum Expansion

Something big is happening at the National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame in Fort Worth — and Linbeck is proud to be part of it!

The museum’s $19 million expansion is well underway, and the results are already turning heads. Massive bas-relief concrete panels now crown the building, depicting 70 running horses that celebrate the women and horses of the American West. The heaviest single panel weighs in at 45,000 pounds, with the total weight of all panels reaching 1.2 million pounds of concrete and rebar. Transporting and installing them was no small feat, with full-height panels arriving one by one and smaller sections carefully set into place two or three at a time.

Linbeck Project Manager Trey Silva spoke with NBC 5 DFW about the incredible logistics behind bringing this vision to life. A vision conceived by Paris-based architect Reza Azard, whose firm partnered closely with Linbeck to make it a reality. Construction wraps this summer, with a public debut planned for November!
