Overview

The Morris Foundation Women and Children’s Center is a transitional multifamily housing facility that was completed by Linbeck and Bennett Benner Partners through a design-build approach. Designed as a cost effective, warm, and inviting residence, the center serves as a safe launch pad for women and their children in need. It was the team’s goal to create a dignified home that offered both stability and support to families. The Women and Children’s Center provides emergency and transitional shelter to approximately 95 homeless children and 40 mothers and includes classrooms, nursery and daycare facilities, a kitchen, dispensary, case management offices, and an outdoor play area. Since its opening, the center has become the Morris Foundation Family Services Center to extend its services to single fathers with children and two-parent families experiencing homelessness.
