Description
The Dallas Zoo Herpetarium Exhibit Renovation was a highly coordinated effort that updated the zoo’s existing building structure and transformed the visitor experience. As part of the scope, Linbeck demolished the existing skylight system that integrated with the façade. This work required precise sequencing to maintain the integrity of the existing building envelope. The team also installed a redesigned skylight layout, which commanded careful coordination to maintain weatherproofing and long-term performance. Additionally, the renovation expanded the Exhibit Pool area to bring in new mechanical chases and upgraded infrastructure that can support modern animal habitats and exhibit systems. A centerpiece of the renovation was the installation of an epic decking ceiling system, which spans from the lobby through the expanded Exhibit Pool area. This ceiling system creates a seamless, visually engaging environment that balances aesthetic appeal with functional performance.
