Description
Zoo New England, responsible for both Franklin Park Zoo and Stone Zoo, hired Linbeck, along with designers Sasaki Associates, Inc., to create the Sierra Madre exhibit. Early planning was critical in the design and fast-track construction of the enclosures for the jaguar, cougar, coyote, falcon, and eagle populations. The project also included the construction of a new building to house several species, including snakes, which need an environmentally controlled atmosphere. Construction of caging systems and installation of natural habitats for several bird and mammal species were also included in the project.
