Overview
The Texas WILD! project expanded the Fort Worth Zoo by eight acres, adding 22 new buildings and remodeling two vintage buildings with the objective of immersing visitors in the rich variety of flora, fauna, and geography of the natural regions of Texas. An integrated team approach was essential to delivering zoo facilities that provided optimal living environments for the animals and memorable experiences for visitors. Special experiences, such as the Weather Theater, were created to permit visitors to experience the dramatic variety of weather in Texas without the danger. Artisans skilled in faux rock work replicated natural rock to stabilize the river banks that bisect Texas WILD.
