Overview
St. Luke’s Sugar Land Hospital and Medical Office Building (St. Luke’s) is an expansive, five-story facility that includes a hospital, medical office building, and parking garage, and offers full inpatient and outpatient services. Developed by Medistar for St. Luke’s Sugar Land Hospital Corporation, the project was a way to bring St. Luke’s advanced services and quality of care to residents in the area. Linbeck, in collaboration with the design team, delivered the project on a fast-track design-build basis, meaning the structure was already under construction as it was still being designed. While a challenging form of construction, this approach allowed the team to add value for the owner through reduced costs and faster occupancy. As a result, St. Luke’s was delivered 24 percent faster and 10 percent less cost than similar community hospitals in the area.
