Overview
Utilizing a design-build approach, Linbeck and PhiloWilke finished-out three levels of Alkek Hospital while it remained open and fully operational. To keep the site safe and reduce impacts to patients, staff, and visitors, Linbeck completed each of the three levels in groups using a detailed phasing plan. The team also coordinated all material and equipment deliveries to further minimize disruptions. In total, the Levels 20-22 Finish-Out incorporated new patient rooms, reception areas, equipment storage rooms and alcoves, clean and dirty linen areas, employee break rooms, offices, staff work rooms, consult areas, and waiting areas for patients’ families.
