Overview
In an effort to support PharmaLogic’s nuclear medicine and radiopharmaceutical capabilities, Linbeck transformed an existing tiltwall structure into a safe and modern research, development, and production facility. To create an all-new, safe production facility, Linbeck completely gutted the structure’s interior, removed the existing concrete slab, and excavated the subgrade approximately 4’ down to limestone and backfilled it with road base. This backfill was important for supporting the weight of the lead-shielded medical equipment housed within the pharmacy. In addition to multiple clean rooms, labs, and quality control areas, PharmaLogic Austin features a concrete vault for its cyclotrons and multiple embedded conduit pathways that lead to trenches in the lab spaces that transport the isotopes into the medical equipment that compounds the drugs.
