Overview

Cook Children’s Medical Center South Tower is a new, nine-story hospital expansion featuring all state-of-the-art facilities, an expanded emergency department, clinical laboratory space, and Heart Center for the Dallas-Fort Worth metro area’s largest pediatric healthcare provider. The project was delivered using the Integrated Project Delivery method and also included 100,000 SF of renovation in the adjoining South Extension. The tower was delivered in a carefully sequenced construction and transition schedule consisting of more than 30 phases to facilitate the relocation and expansion of multiple departments and minimize the impact on ongoing operations. The project also includes two basement levels and seven additional floors. The basement is dedicated to more than 22,000 SF of medical laboratory space along with sterile processing rooms and a medical library.
