Description
Since opening in 1967, Brennan’s of Houston has remained one of Houston’s most coveted dining experiences. The building the restaurant now occupies was designed by esteemed architect John Staub and built in 1926 for the Junior League of Houston. In 2008, after decades of dishing out top-tier cuisine, Brennan’s suffered a two-alarm fire that, in conjunction with Hurricane Ike, caused immense damages due to fire, wind, smoke, and water. The restaurant team brought on Linbeck to save the building, with major emphasis placed on restoring John Staub’s design intent. The project team was able to restore the building’s original detailing and brickwork, and outfitted the space with new life safety systems, building accessibility, and MEP infrastructure to add greater stability to the restaurant.
