Overview

Designed by Rafael Viñoly Architects, the National Medal of Honor Museum pays special tribute to the brave men and women who have served our country through military service. The national monument is supported by five megacolumns–each representing a branch of the military–and includes an expansive exhibition gallery, Leadership Institute, and state-of-the-art conference and event facilities. The Exhibition Hall rises above two military parade grounds and forms an open air rotunda at the ground floor level. The ground floor consists of earth berm buildings that cast daylight toward the Rotunda and lake, allowing visitors to experience the burdens of our Medal of Honor recipients. The mission of the National Medal of Honor Museum has been built into every fiber of the structure through the hands of veteran craftsmen and women.
