Description
In an effort to relieve their extensive waitlist in Central Texas, the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Texas (RMHC-CTX) engaged Linbeck to build out their new landmark facility at Texas Children’s Hospital North Austin (TCH) campus. The project took place on the fifth floor of the active, fully operational hospital and directly above the Cardiology Department, a configuration that required strict planning and coordination, particularly for full infection control, dust mitigation protocols and advanced notification and planning for utility shutdown and tie-ins. Today, TCH houses nine private family suites—including one oversized suite for transplant patients and families—along with a full communal kitchen, dining area, lounge, complimentary laundry facilities, dedicated activity space for siblings, art therapy areas, and a multipurpose family-support room.
